Very simple ways to improve on human resource management in hospital

Example of Kumba District Hospital
with important number of staff
A lot of strategies have been developed by managers to track staff attendance but in general they have shown a lot of weaknesses. These is and not the less putting a place Attendance registers. This can’t solve the problem because
of staff behaviour to record the exact arrival and closing time.
More and more now smart manager relied on IT because of it liability

Some hospital have experienced it and it has improved the quality of service and care to patients.
A good example is Kumba District hospital in the south west region
The management decided to put in place 02 BIOMETRIC PALM SCANNERS and central server in 2013.














The system is able to generate a monthly biometric departmental statistic reports which is a key tool for management and decision making.














The BIOMETRIC PALM SCANNERS has immediately and in a short time solve the following issues:
-          Ghost staff have been detected
-          Permanency is always insure at the hospital
o   Patients fell more comfortable seen nurses always around
o    
-          Gradually staff are on duty and on time
-          Gradual behaviour change especially when a system of stick and carrot is in place with PBF
o   Element to calculate monthly performance bonus
o   Extra time recognised and paid accordingly
o   Time lost extracted on bonus
-          Reduction of request for absence because it would impact on the end of month bonus ( still stick and Carrot)
-          Have been a plus even for General practitioner (GP) and specialist in that sense that they close at time due and hand over to the GP on night shift.
