This article examines the performance-based financing (PBF) project in
South-Western, North-Western, Eastern and Coastal regions of Cameroon from
the perspective of autonomy in health resource allocation. It also presents the
lessons learned and makes recommendations based on examples of efficiency gains
and effectiveness with the autonomous use of results-based financing (RBF)
funds.
